Abiding in His Love

Year three – Increased Joys
Today is already May 21. Happy Anniversary to us. I don’t know if anyone reads my posts… If no one reads them at least I spend a moment to reminiscing on all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us as family.
One of the greatest blessings in our family was and is Isaiah. He has brought so much joy in our lives. He has expanded our love and has though us many important lessons.
I have learned a lot about my relationship with God during this year! I have learned to depend on Him like my child depends on me. I have learned about the joy that a parent feels when he/she sees the child finding peace in his/her arms. Same way, I believe that God is delighted when we, as His children come and find peace in His arms. O how much more our heavenly Father loves us, how much more He enjoys our presence… not because HE is lonely but because HE created us, and He loved us with such an extravagant love.
Thank you dear Lord for this great reminder of your enduring love! Read the rest of this entry »
Year Two – Great is His faithfulness!
In June 2007 we planned to go together to Israel for 3 weeks of excavations but our plans did not exactly match God’s. After returning for 2 weeks in US
we both left toward Europe and eventually Israel…. Chris went to Israel for about 2 weeks and than he had to come and join me in Romania. The reason why he left so unexpected was the war that started between Israel and Lebanon.
While I was waiting for Chris to return to Romania where I was visiting my parents, I found out that we were expecting a child. We were so happy. I found out early on a Saturday morning but I did not tell anyone until I spoke with Chris on the phone that very evening! (you might remember in my first post about our coming anniversary I mentioned that God protected Chris in Israel through some rough circumstances – it was the time when I found out about the coming of our son)
On our way back to Korea we spent some time in Europe… as I look back I am impressed and overwhelmed by the patience that Chris had with me because sometimes (Ok Yobo – most of the times) I was moody
:P … but it was still a great trip. We stayed one day in Bratislava -Slovakia
and then we left to Vienna where we stayed 2 days.
It was good to be back to Vienna
the place where Chris proposed to me…. ( Schonbrun palace in the princes’ garden)…
The next day we went to Slazburg… I will post two pictures from Salzburg…one with both of us and one only with me. As I was selecting pictures for this post I noticed that one picture that we got is with the fountain from “The Sound of Music”… maybe you remember the scene when Maria takes the kids in Salzburg and they sing at a fountain – check out the picture…
I am pretty sure it’s the same fountain. Read the rest of this entry »
Year one on – Life on two Continents
let’s start with the begining
and than the beginning of honey life
!
here is one place that we really enjoyed going to – Solvang. It’s about 2 hours away from our first home. It’s a Danish city/village that makes you slow down from the crazy Californian life …It’s a great place to relax… where you can walk take bike rides and eat home made chocolate like the one mami(my mom) used to make back in Romania. We bought from there our first quilt.
I was looking through the pictures of our first Christmas and I found the one from our home. It was a strange feeling bitter-sweet of LONG TIME AGO! Though I don’t miss it … that place will always be special ( even though I forgot the house number
– I had Cris remind it to me) because it was OUR first home. Here is a picture…
I almost forgot about Utah. Two days before New before New Year we went with our youth to Brian Head, Utah. It was quite an experience. I learned to sky. I wasn’t the easiest experience but it was great and I thank my beloved for the patience he showed me and for his encouragements. We had so much fun and by the end of the day I was able with quite a few falls to go down the intermediate slope. ![]()
Even before we got married we knew that God was calling us to go and serve Him.
We knew about the possibility to go to South Korea but we didn’t know for sue or the timing. Well, God had His perfect timing and on February the 3rd 2006 Chris left to Seoul, S. Korea. I had to stay for a while behind to wait for my green card. It wasn’t easy but the Lord was with us and His grace was just enough for each day!
Than here I am with my beloved in our new country just on time for the cherry blossoms pictures. As you can see from the picture we are very happy to be together again…. I wonder who’s more beautiful: the cherries or the couple?!
:)
Here is a picture with some of Chris’ students from Torch Trinity Graduate School of Theology. As you can see we all have different skin colors and different backgrounds but we all have one desire – to give glory to our Lord.
And here we are First Year Anniversary. It’s been such a wonderful year, filled with God’s blessings, with lots of love, quite a few challenges ( being away from Chris for about 2 months, buying a house and in less than 6 months back on the market to sell it, moving to a new place, meeting new people). But in all God showed His FAITHFULNESS.
This is my anthem, this is my song, the
theme of the stories I’ve heard for so long.
God has been faithful, he will be again.
His loving compassion, it knows no end.
3 years of blessings upon blessings – I
Next week we will “celebrate” our anniversary. On the 21 of May we will celebrate our 3rd wedding’s anniversary.
In the following days I will change the image header with pictures taken these years.
As I look back I see God’s hand taking care of us. I see His faithful hand that each morning renewed His love, grace and mercy for our family. He’s been with us, he has protected us… delivered us, blessed us.
I remember when Chris was in Israel and the war started … I could hear the bombs falling…as I was talking with him on the phone. It was God’s protecting hand upon him that brought him back safe. THANK YOU LORD!
If there is just one sentence that I were to post that would be:
He’s always been faithful to us.
I will post the lyrics of one of my favorite song. ( a friend of mine sang it at our wedding) … I also found it on youtube. Read the rest of this entry »
