Abiding in His Love

“There is no more lovely, friendly or charming relationship, communion or company, than a good marriage.” Martin Luther

ATTENTION: Travellers: PACK LIGHT!!!

I am counting down the days until, GOD WILLING, we will return to Korea….!:) … and I can not stop but think about the luggage! You might not know what it means to travel with a child and to have to limit your luggage to 50 lbs, when half of the luggage is the suitcase itself….One thing I can assure you – it’s not EASY!

These past few days we went shopping – not that we bought much but we had to run away from the heat….! Let me tell you, there are quite a few 4th of July SALES. Even though there were a lot of stuffs that I would have liked to have I constantly wondered why buy if I have to leave them behind?!

This thought kept chasing me these days…. WHY BUY STUFFS IF I HAVE TO LEAVE THEM BEHIND?!

Isn’t it true that on regular basis we do not think about possessions from this prospective. We don’t think about life as a journey! We don’t think about our time here on Earth as a long or short train ride or like a flight with more lay overs…with destination in eternity!

If we would see life like that we would live it different! We would focus more on relationships than on real estate, we would spend more time playing instead of paying….!

One day we will leave everything behind and we will go home in heaven. And the bad news for some or the good news for others is that we won’t be allowed to have any luggage or carry-on… no credit cards , cash or ATM’s!

May we never live our lives driven by the verb “HAVE” but rather by verbs like “be”, “love”, “give” and “GO and preach, GO and tell them about MY LOVE, GO and make disciples of all nations”.

I pray that as for me and my family we will always remember that our home is not here but in heaven, our treasures are not in this world but with our Lord!
