In June 2007 we planned to go together to Israel for 3 weeks of excavations but our plans did not exactly match God’s. After returning for 2 weeks in US
we both left toward Europe and eventually Israel…. Chris went to Israel for about 2 weeks and than he had to come and join me in Romania. The reason why he left so unexpected was the war that started between Israel and Lebanon.
While I was waiting for Chris to return to Romania where I was visiting my parents, I found out that we were expecting a child. We were so happy. I found out early on a Saturday morning but I did not tell anyone until I spoke with Chris on the phone that very evening! (you might remember in my first post about our coming anniversary I mentioned that God protected Chris in Israel through some rough circumstances – it was the time when I found out about the coming of our son)
On our way back to Korea we spent some time in Europe… as I look back I am impressed and overwhelmed by the patience that Chris had with me because sometimes (Ok Yobo – most of the times) I was moody
:P … but it was still a great trip. We stayed one day in Bratislava -Slovakia
and then we left to Vienna where we stayed 2 days.
It was good to be back to Vienna
the place where Chris proposed to me…. ( Schonbrun palace in the princes’ garden)…
The next day we went to Slazburg… I will post two pictures from Salzburg…one with both of us and one only with me. As I was selecting pictures for this post I noticed that one picture that we got is with the fountain from “The Sound of Music”… maybe you remember the scene when Maria takes the kids in Salzburg and they sing at a fountain – check out the picture…
I am pretty sure it’s the same fountain.
As we returned to Korea we got back to school. It was a very busy fall…. between classes and doctor’s appointments we had little time to do other stuffs. Anyway, we are so grateful to God for so much love that he has poured upon both of us, for giving me a pregnancy with no complications even though we traveled more than it was recommended to a pregnant woman. Here is a picture from the US baby shower. We had one in Korea too! (in picture – my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, me and my niece Andrea)
Later in the winter we joined HEM where Chris serves as co-pastor (with Dr. Steven Chang) at the English Ministry. A ministry that had been blessed with many babies in the last 3 years….but also with growth and maturity in the spiritual sphere.
Here is a picture from our First Christmas in Korea. The picture is taken at Seoul National Opera…. we went to see The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky…. it was really good
…
… we don’t seem to have many pictures with my big belly but we have A LOT of picture with the one that came out. Here is one of my favorite pregnancy pictures…. it was taken by my neighbor Nita…. (who is not a professional photographer but she loves to play with the pictures)
Time went bye and the D-day came. I was telling everyone that Isaiah Christian will be born sooner but I was wrong. God had His own timing( I must say that both of us were hoping that our son would be born on Chris’s Birthday – Feb. 26th)…. and I must say His perfect timing. On March 3rd and 3:20 p.m. Isaiah was welcomed into this world by his daddy and mommy with lots of joy and love. I will not get into many details about the labor delivery but I want to say that God did it again. He showed us His faithfulness His tenderness and His love even in those not easy moments.
…one thing I will never forget about those days, is the love my neighbors showed us … through cooking and offering to stay with Isaiah in the evening so that I could go out with Chris and take a walk!… We both enjoy talking walks and talk …
A memory that I am sure Chris treasures in his heart is this one….he would come from school and put Isaiah on His chest and both would fall asleep! (The doctors say that the parent’s heart beat calms down the baby… it worked on Isaiah)…
On Sundays afternoons after church service we would take Isaiah for a walk in Bun dang ( a city/suburb of Seoul)… I am going to post a picture with a wonderful daddy! Let me know if he looks familiar to you?!

In April Chris was ordained as a pastor. Here is a picture with all three of us:
In May we (me and Isaiah ) came to US for a few days. Although I was so worried because it was just the two of us on a very long flight GOD showed me that He is the one that takes care of all our needs and He does far more than we know to ask Him. From Tokyo where we had the layover to LA it’s a 9 hours flight… well Isaiah slept about 8?! Our family from US was excited to see the little cousin, nephew, grandson. Here are some pictures from our short US trip.
As you can see daddy was very happy to see us again:
( sorry Yobo – I know this is not your best picture with Isaiah but your facial expressions tell a lot)…
At some times it was challenging but not a day passed by when God’s grace was not sufficient…. it was always just as much as we needed … sometimes even more!
We do not have a picture from our second anniversary because I was on my way back to Korea ….
I have been blessed with such a terrific husband ( and I mean it from the bottom of my heart( and such a wonderful child. Not a day passes by not to thank God for His wonderful gifts for my life.
GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS!

Great job Yobo. I bet you miss Salzburg!!!
It is hard to beat that scenery, and my sense of direction – of course
