Abiding in His Love

“There is no more lovely, friendly or charming relationship, communion or company, than a good marriage.” Martin Luther

Loving your husband through Prayer

I know that you might be thinking - why does she talk about husbands while we still celebrate mother’s day?!… first is because I love my husband so much and without him I could not be who I am: a blessed wife and mother. Second because prayer connects us to heaven and to our Father.

I am reading this book:

“Loving your spouse through prayer” by Cherri Fuller.

One thing that the book talks about is the importance of praying according to God’s will. Many times we do not know how to pray so this book talks about praying God’s Word over our husbands, over our marriages, over our children.

You might wonder why pray God’s word over our families when we have so many other “important” things to ask for … like a new car, a better job, better health…?!

Here are some reasons why it is important to pray the Word of God over our spouses.

  • Lord Jesus gave us a model how to pray, a model to guide an shape our prayers. When we pray His Word over our families we ask Him to fulfill His promises to us, promises found throughout the Bible.
  • Praying God’s Word over our families will help us stay connected with God’s Word over the day…
  • The Word of God is alive and powerful.

Each chapter covers a story of a family and shows how God worked through the prayer according to His will.

Another thing I like about this book is the Question and reflections part from the end of each chapter. It is a great book for a ladies’ Bible study group. It talks about families that had problems in marriage, it talks about families that had stress in their relationships, it talks about families that never prayed together….

I hope that you will decide to bless your husband day after day with the gift of praying for Him.

Give him this gift and your life will never be the same again.

… so I pray for my beloved one:

“Dear Lord please make my beloved like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. Make him prosperous in all that he does. “

For His Glory!
